The Impact of Community
An entrepreneur knows that part of the spirit is almost like an infectious disease. You get an idea, this idea keeps you awake and sucks all of your time and attention often reeking havoc on your circadian rhythm. You forget about routine, the basic human needs: sleeping, eating and socializing and become obsessed with this idea becoming reality. It is intoxicating and exhilarating. Locked in this creative mind is a force that needs to come out and be seen by the world. Divine intervention? Call it what you want. But what unites all entrepreneurs is a willingness to take a chance.
Taking a chance. Simply put, to move in the direction of pursuit. We do it on a regular basis. Try a new food hoping we like it, take a different road home to avoid traffic, say hello to a new person. Chance is a window that allows the light to shine through. Without opening that window you will never feel the breeze.
What all entrepreneurs need to succeed is a community. A community that supports them through the thick and the thin. The community that will recommend their new hire, help them meet investors, spread the word when they are ready for early adopters and ultimately bring a sense of support and comfort, that validates the chance. TechDay is an entrepreneur’s community. It gives all entrepreneurs a day to shine and be one within their community.
