NYC Startup Gains Visibility By Claiming To Have Solved The Classic Problem of "I Have Nothing To Wear"
What if I told you women spend an average of 27 minutes every morning deciding what to wear with a satisfaction rate of 25%? Additionally, they are only utilizing 20% of the items in their closets, leaving 80% to create clutter. With over 3 hours per week spent with sub-par results, and countless dollars from their paycheck going to waste, you’d think women would be shocked to hear these statistics, but they’re not. This is a problem that nearly every woman faces on a weekly, if not daily basis. We’ve seen a few different platforms pop up over the past few years trying to solve different aspects of this problem. On one end of the spectrum, there are virtual styling services whose end goal is to solve the “nothing to wear” or “no time” problem, by selling consumers more clothing to add to a wardrobe they’ve never seen. At the other end of the spectrum, there are apps available, that with time and effort, users can digitalize and categorize their wardrobes, although receiving no guidance on how to style and better utilize their clothes.I caught up with Personal Style Finder (PSF), the first premium wardrobe management platform trying to solve all of these problems. By marrying in-person styling sessions and their digital platform, their goal is to save women time and stress, while also celebrating their individuality and personal style. With the personal styling industry ranging from in-store shoppers and virtual stylists to DYI apps, I asked The PSF team to help me understand how their service is different from the rest. They did this by identifying the 3 most common wardrobe complaints and how they are solving for them.“I have nothing to wear”When our clients meet their stylist in their closet, they work together to create a season full of go-to looks from their existing wardrobe. The stylist uploads these outfits to the PSF platform which then sends two daily outfit suggestions based on weather and laundry to the client’s inbox every morning. Our Motto. Dressed Not Stressed.2. “I’m overwhelmed by my closet”We provide women access to their own personal stylist. A professional who comes into their home to help them sift through and organize their closet, determine whether to discard, donate or sell unused pieces, and put together a seasonal wardrobe of go-to looks.3. “I’m not sure if what I am wearing is appropriate”We only work with seasoned Professional Fashion Stylists. Whether it’s dressing a specific body type, or questions about the do’s and don’ts for different industries or occasions, PSF stylists are a go-to resource. They’ve been navigating these questions with clients for years.“Gone are the days where fashion stylists are only for the rich and famous. Every woman deserves to effortlessly look good and feel confident, so she can go out and do great things!” - Kelsi Brazell, Co-Founder, Personal Style Finder. If you find yourself saying the above statements, PSF might be able to help.TechDay is proud to have them as one of close to 550 Tech startups that will be exhibiting at the upcoming TechDay event in New York City on April 21st.If you have not gotten your ticket to TechDay, you can get them for free: https://techdayhq.com/new-yorkFind PSF at NY TechDay, and see if they can help make your life easier with their fashion-tech approach to choosing the right outfit at the right time.
