Founder Story – Neat Nation to Bring Beauty Treatments to The Modern Consumer

The world is constantly changing. However, certain industries, like Beauty and Wellness, are overdue for a radical overhaul in order to keep up with the times and demands of its consumers. Neat Nation takes the brick and mortar salon out of the equation and connects first-class Neat Experts to clients around London, Surrey, and Essex. Its easy-to-use booking interface and 24/7 availability offers on-demand, first-class services, in the comfort and privacy of the client’s home, office, or hotel. London is a hot spot for beauty start-ups, but Neat Nation aims to differentiate itself through its extensive selection of services, affordable prices, convenient booking, tailored treatments, and exceptional talents. Neat Nation prides itself on the quality of its Neat Experts who are handpicked as some of the best in their trade and go through a screening process. Anastasia Voigt, one of the founders of Neat Nation, shares with the readers insights to her business. How did you first come up with the idea of Neat Nation?During my years in finance, where hours were long and unpredictable, getting out of work to make it to the salon before closure was a city girl’s version of “mission impossible”. Silly excuses for early departure to the team head, stressful commute, rushed treatments, and the horror of a smudged polish on the toenail because the shoes were put on too early after the pedicure. I’ve done it all. Neat Nation is our innovative, client-centric solution to the outdated single-service (hair or nails or massage) salon-based beauty market. Our service offers a new way to receive beauty treatments for modern Londoners, catering to the demands of their busy lives. Why did you choose to launch your business in London?London was an obvious choice for our headquarters. With London being one of Europe’s fashion, business and cultural capitals, people are naturally more conscious of the way they look, like discovering and adopting new trends, and understanding the importance of appearing neat and well-looked after in front of clients, partners, fans, friends and loved ones. Just as sport has become an integral part of the modern Londoner’s lifestyle of choice, we hope our platform will provide a convenient and affordable way for more people to incorporate a regular beauty and wellness regime within their busy lives, helping them look great and, most importantly, feel confident and relaxed, always.Looking back at where you were when you started this journey, how has Neat Nation changed as a company? What exciting developments can we look forward to in the upcoming few months for Neat Nation? We have grown from a one-person team to thirty-strong community in just a few months, serving hundreds of clients all over London. Our vision has evolved as we listened to our clients. For example, we have extended our working hours to 24/7 at customers’ request, added new services (lash extensions, tanning), created convenient repeat bookings interface (Neat Plan), and we have a number of amazing projects and collaborations in implementation stage at the moment, but these we’ll touch upon in the next interview. There has been some recent critique about the on-demand, "gig economy". What are your thoughts about this new form of work and how are you ensuring the well-being of your Neat Experts? For us, our Neat Experts are as important as our clients – we pride ourselves on being uncompromising in quality, and handpicking and nurturing talent is the cornerstone of our success. In contrast to our on-demand competitors, who normally ask for a minimum of 3 hours’ commitment per week from the experts, our freelancers have complete freedom over their schedules. This flexibility makes us more accommodating to those therapists who have other commitments such as childcare, work in a salon, travel to look after their celebrity clients etc.In addition, we cater to advanced bookings, not just “instant” demand, which allows us to bring highly experienced and established professionals to the platform who have refused to work with our competitors due to the inherent hassle of instant delivery. Our generous commission of 75-80% is just another testament to our appreciation of our experts’ loyalty, dedication and excellent client service.Facebook: Neat NationInstagram: NeatNationWebsite: http://www.neatnation.com/
