Big Hardware Ideas From Small Tools

8:00 am - 8:15 am

Andrew Askedall
Senior Director of Product Design at MakerBot

Andrew has been making things at MakerBot for the past four years. Currently he is the Senior Director of Product Design working on all things digital. He is an avid 3D designer and Thingiverse user, and created internet's the most widely downloaded and 3D printed model of the Millennium Falcon.

Course Description:

Not every idea needs to change the world. Not every product needs a potential customer base of millions of people. In many cases you’re better off developing a targeted product for a small group rather than a broad product for a larger group. Equipped with a growing range of 21st century maker spaces, 3D printers, and digital design, your next big idea could be really small.

Attendees will leave this session with a better understanding of how to:

Find resources to design and build a product.
Iterate and test that product successfully.
Nurture that idea from concept all the way to product.
