Fernando Montejo

Fernando is passionate about the intersection of inclusive economic development and civic innovation. He is Assistant Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), advancing programs that support emerging technology sectors and a more inclusive tech ecosystem for NYC. This includes an initiative to help underrepresented founders and funders access critical resources, revamping the online hub for the city’s tech ecosystem, and NYC’s blockchain and responsible AI strategies.
Fernando was previously at MIT SOLVE, a tech incubator for social impact innovation, where he supported entrepreneurs from around the world committed to solving economic opportunity challenges. He started his career at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), where he helped implement initiatives to improve the quality of life for more than 400,000 public housing residents. Fernando holds a Master in City Planning from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Urban & Regional Studies from Cornell University.
