Emma is the Founder and CEO of People Function and the Head of People at Mixlab, the delightful veterinary pharmacy startup. She lives her life at the intersection of Startups and Human Resources. After almost a decade working in the people functions of growing companies in New York City in HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, and Head of People roles, Emma decided to found People Function. She wanted to bring the expertise that she had gained in the field to companies that needed the support but weren’t quite ready for that in-house person yet, or that needed a short-term solution to their HR needs, bridging the gap between the company and the employees. Emma is deeply motivated by the employees she and her team members serve, and wants to ensure that companies are being thoughtful in their approach to building their People Functions.

Emma has a BA in Sociology from Hamilton College and an MS in HR Management and Development, with a concentration in Organizational Effectiveness from New York University. Emma lives in Brooklyn with her equally nerdy partner. She loves to dance, and enjoys going to everything live in NYC - theater, dance, comedy, music, drag! She is a big Star Wars nerd and has a super high midichlorian count.
