The Fastest Way to Solve Tech’s Diversity Problem

10:45 am - 11:00 am

Ethan Austin
Director of Techstars LA at Techstars

Ethan Austin is an entrepreneur and investor who currently serves as Director of Techstars LA. Prior to joining Techstars, Ethan pioneered the medical crowdfunding space as a co-founder of GiveForward, the world's first medical crowdfunding platform. After going through the Techstars program himself in 2010, his company raised $7M in funding from First Round Capital, Founder Collective, and Pritzker Group. The GiveForward platform went on to help families raise $200M for their loved ones' out-of-pocket-medical expenses and helped change the way people care for each other during life's most difficult times. GiveForward was twice recognized by the White House, has been part of INC's 30 under 30 and won the Edison Award in 2012 as the best new social innovation in the United States.
