Eugene M. Lang Entrepreneurship Center
Columbia Business School’s Eugene M. Lang Entrepreneurship Center (The Lang Center) powers entrepreneurship, venture capital, and innovation at the School and in the global entrepreneurial community. Curriculum, programs, and resources follow a three-pronged approach:
Launch: Starting a business during or after graduation from business school
Invest: Learning about investing in startups through venture capital (early stage and growth) and angel investing
Join: Working at an existing startup or in innovation at a larger organization
Building on a rich tradition of teaching and research in the field of entrepreneurship, Columbia Business School established the Lang Center in 2000 with a gift from Eugene M. Lang, MS ’40. A member of the Board of Overseers, Mr. Lang was both a successful entrepreneur and a distinguished philanthropist.
Columbia Business School Startup Alley
Every year Columbia Business School and its Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center invite select CBS alumni- and student-founded startups to participate in the CBS Startup Alley at TechDay New York. At this year’s three-day global online conference, 30 CBS startups will pitch, exhibit their concepts, and highlight products currently in development in digital booths, with some even participating in conference breakout sessions.
